About the pregnancy support center

HISTORY
The center was started in 1984 by a group of local Christians who wanted to provide support to women and their families in crisis pregnancies. After more than 35 years of ministry, the center has served more than 4000 clients from Prince Edward and the surrounding counties. The Pregnancy Center, a 501(c)3, has a board of directors representing several Christian denominations, six staff members, and over 40 volunteers.

FUNDING
The Center receives no government funding, being supported entirely by the generosity of churches, individuals, and organizations. Our two biggest events are the Walk for Life and Fundraising Banquet.

SERVICES
We are a body of Christians affirming the dignity of human life. By applying biblical principles, providing accurate information, expressing compassion, and giving practical care, the ministry seeks to change the lives of women and save their pre-born children.

We offer a 24-hour helpline, free pregnancy testing, and options counseling. Our advocates educate clients on prenatal development and alternatives to abortion — we give women the full information they deserve about their choices. We offer prenatal and parenting classes and material assistance, as well as Bible studies, both general and those focused on post-abortive healing.

AFFILIATION
We are an affiliate of Care Net, a Christian ministry that helps train and promote more than 1100 pregnancy centers across North America. All Care Net pregnancy centers are committed to the highest standards of care.
